One Of Nature’s Greatest Stressbusters

Hectic day at work? Feeling a bit stressed? A change is a good as a rest – especially if it’s a change of scenery.

If you need to relax with your loved ones or have a laugh with your mates then it’s time to chill beside the river.

There’s something incredibly comforting about being beside the water. The steady flow of a river has a very soothing effect.

Sooner or later (preferably sooner) we slow our busy lives down to the pace of the river. It relaxes us. Simply watching the world drift by is one of life’s great free pleasures.

In short – rivers are one of nature’s greatest stressbusters. And here in Maidenhead, our restaurant on the River Thames is the perfect setting for a wonderful meal out.

Watch The World Go By…

At 215 miles long the Thames is England’s longest river. What starts as a humble trickle in the Cotswolds soon becomes a wonderful waterway full of fascinating sights – both in terms of wildlife and boats.

There are always lots of ducks, swans and watercraft passing by as you dally over your BBQ chicken, rack of ribs, fresh dressed crab or Moroccan lamb tagine.

Seriously. What could be better? Wild boar and apple sausages as you watch the hardy souls of Maidenhead Rowing Club take to the water.

Or perhaps pan fried sea bass as you gaze longingly at the passing pleasure craft and earmark the biggest for that auspicious day when the stars and the lottery balls align.

Eat, Drink And Be Merry

Eating out beside the Thames is always brilliant on a balmy summer’s day. But don’t forget the autumn too.

Riverside dining is just as relaxing when you’re snuggled up in the warm and tucking into a hearty meal – especially when you can look forward to a lovely hot pudding afterwards.

Remember that our stunning riverside views are always beautiful – whether you’re catching the last rays of late summer sun or admiring the golden hues of autumn leaves.

And you’ll always have plenty of great choices on our menu:

  • eight starters including Cajun-spiced fresh tuna steak with seaweed; duck and orange paté with red onion marmalade and toasted ciabatta; carpaccio of beef with horseradish cream, mushroom purée, truffle oil, parmesan and watercress
  • eighteen main courses including 10oz ribeye and sirloin steaks; fresh Dorset crab with lime mayonnaise; 4oz lamb rump and shepherd’s pie; traditional fish and chips with minted garden peas; rosemary and garlic studded camembert with cranberry sauce and ciabatta
  • a whole host of burgers, salads and pasta…
  • eight desserts including chocolate brownie; ice cream; sorbet; warm sticky toffee pudding; lemon and elderflower meringue pie; fresh strawberry pavlova; English cheeseboard with Blue Stilton, Red Leicester and Mature Cheddar.
